And somewhere inside all this mud you're glad that you exist
Because if you claim "at least it's short" you're still an optimist

When the waves that wouldn't crush
Took the both of us

So you thought the joke was on you and the punchline wasn't great
You can throw it out and drown in beer, fame the rest on blate
Spending time lamenting on the gifts you couldn't give
